Rebranding CARTSS

CARTSS is a multifaceted mental health and counseling provider that specializes in offering art, music, dance and recreational therapies in a hospital / clinical setting to variety of patients with mental health needs. CARTSS has been in operation for several years and needed to update their logo and branding to align with their new messaging and marketing initiative. The company required a bold and professional new logo to interface with hospital administration, their primary customers, and attract new talent.

Through various conversations and the exploration of different directions, the CARTSS team decided they wanted to avoid depictions, however abstract, of humans to avoid excluding or alienating any demographic. We arrived at a typographic logo as the name of the company is unique. I decided to link the letter pairs that make up each of the three core practices that went into creating the name: creative arts, recreational therapy and social services. The motto of the company is “We elevate lives” and I incorporated this concept of transformation into the gradient of the color version of the logo.
